Allison Geoscience Consultants, Inc. has been involved in developing, enhancing, and
testing models since our inception in 1992. We are able to work with a variety of
programming languages, including FORTRAN, C, and Visual Basic. We have completed
projects that involve the modification of existing geochemical and groundwater model codes
to incorporate new features. Also, we have completed graphical user interface
projects that begin with design and end with working GUIs. Some example projects
include:
- We designed and built MINTEQA2 for Windows, a graphical user interface and execution
environment for MINTEQA2, using Visual Basic.
- We designed and built MULTIMED for Windows, a graphical user interface for MULTIMED,
also in Visual Basic.
- We have made extensive contributions to the development of MMTRISK, a multimedia
exposure and risk assessment model written in FORTRAN, for HydroGeoLogic, Inc., of
Herndon, Virginia. We have made modifications to both the groundwater and air
pathways of the model.
- We have modified MINTEQA2 for the US EPA to produce Version 4.0 of that model.
This included adding special routines for handling dissolved organic matter and other
routines to speed convergence of the model. Also, we greatly expanded that model's
thermodynamic database.
- We have modified EPACML-FS, a finite source version of EPACML (EPA's Composite Model for
Landfills), for the US EPA. We added features to facilitate the employment of a
finite source term for use in early stages of modeling for the Hazardous Waste
Identification Rule.
