Allison Geoscience Consultants, Inc. has experience in many aspects of groundwater
modeling, from data collection and the development of model application methodologies, to
the site-specific application of models. Here are some of our more notable projects:
- We assisted the Athens-Clarke County, Georgia, municipal government by using the HELP
model and MODFLOW, MODPATH, and MT3D to predict the fate and transport of contaminants
around their municipal landfill and to evaluate various remediation options.
- We assisted the Kansas Department of Health and Environment in the development of their
landfill permitting program by using the HELP model to estimate the expected water balance
of both lined and unlined landfills in eastern and western Kansas.
- We wrote a supplement to the MULTIMED user's manual for the US EPA that describes how
that model can be used to evaluate landfill performance.
- We assisted the US EPA in developing a finite source groundwater modeling methodology
for early work in the Hazardous Waste Identification Rule (HWIR).
- We performed a sensitivity analysis of EPACMTP (another EPA groundwater model used in
HWIR) for the US EPA.
- We performed a peer review of the EPACMTP User's Guide for the US EPA.
- We asssisted the US EPA in authoring documents describing verification testing of the
EPACMTP-derived groundwater modules used in HWIR.
- We assisted the US EPA in reviewing the scope of multimedia models in use by government
agencies.
- We performed a monte carlo based sensitivity analysis of the HELP model for the US EPA.
- We performed a peer review of the US EPA's Delisting Technical Support Document.
- We collected data for use by the US EPA in modeling the impact of land application of
sewage sludge.
We are skilled in the use of a variety of groundwater and multimedia exposure and risk
assessment models, including MODFLOW, MT3D, MODPATH, MULTIMED, AT123D, MMSOILS, MMTRISK,
BIOSCREEN, PRZM3, and HELP.
